Buying the bigger pack isn't always cheaper. Enter the price and quantity (or size) of each product and this tool works out the price per unit, highlights the best value, and shows how much more the others cost. Add as many items as you like. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use

  1. Enter the price and quantity for each product.
  2. Add more items to compare as needed.
  3. See the price per unit and which is the best value.

How it works

For each item the price per unit is simply the price divided by the quantity — so a 500 g pack at 300 costs 0.6 per gram, while a 1000 g pack at 500 costs 0.5 per gram. The lowest price per unit is marked as the best value, and each other item shows how many percent more it costs per unit, so the cheaper option is clear even when pack sizes differ.

Price divided by quantity gives the price per unit, and the lowest wins.price÷quantity=unit price

What does '+% more' mean?
How much more each item costs per unit compared with the cheapest option.
How many items can I compare?
As many as you like — add rows for each product.
Is my data uploaded?
