This converter uses an exchange rate you type in yourself — there's no live data, so it works offline and is handy when you've noted a rate from your bank or a sign. Enter the amount and rate, add an optional fee markup to mimic exchange costs, and see the converted amount both ways. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use

  1. Enter the amount and the exchange rate you want to use.
  2. Optionally add a fee markup percent to reflect exchange costs.
  3. Read the converted amount, or switch direction with Reverse.

How it works

The rate means how many units of the target currency you get for one unit of the source. The converted amount is simply the amount multiplied by the rate. If you add a fee markup, the effective rate is reduced by that percentage to approximate what an exchange counter keeps, and the shown rate reflects this. Reversing divides by the same effective rate.

An amount multiplied by a rate gives the converted amount.amount×rate=result

FAQ

Does it use live exchange rates?
No. You enter the rate yourself, which is why it works offline and stays predictable.
What does the fee markup do?
It lowers the effective rate by that percent to estimate what an exchange service keeps, so the result is closer to reality.
How do I convert the other way?
Use Reverse to convert from the target currency back to the source using the same effective rate.
What are the currency boxes for?
They're just labels for clarity in the result; they don't change the math.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Every calculation happens in your browser and nothing leaves your device.
