Convert between cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, milliliters and fluid ounces, then turn any volume into grams for common ingredients like flour, sugar and butter. Perfect for following recipes written in different units. Everything is calculated in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

How to use

  1. For volume conversions, enter an amount and pick the units to convert from and to.
  2. For weights, choose your ingredient — each has its own density.
  3. Enter a volume and unit to see the equivalent weight in grams (and back again as a check).

How it works

Every volume unit is converted through milliliters using standard US measures (1 cup = 236.6 ml, 1 tablespoon = 14.79 ml, 1 teaspoon = 4.93 ml). To reach grams, the volume in milliliters is multiplied by the ingredient's density. Flour is light (about 0.53 g/ml) while honey is heavy (about 1.42 g/ml), which is why a cup of each weighs very differently.

One cup converts to 236.6 milliliters, which for flour is about 125 grams.1 cup236.6 ml125 g

Notes

  • Volumes use US customary units; a US cup is 236.6 ml (UK/metric cups differ).
  • Densities are approximate and depend on the brand and how tightly the ingredient is packed.
  • Gram figures are a helpful guide, not a guarantee — for critical baking, weigh on a scale.
  • All conversions run on your device; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

FAQ

How many milliliters are in a cup?
A US customary cup is 236.6 ml. In this tool, 1 cup also equals 16 tablespoons or 48 teaspoons.
How many grams is a cup of flour?
About 125 grams for all-purpose flour, based on a density of roughly 0.53 g/ml. Sifted or packed flour will differ slightly.
Does this use US or UK cups?
It uses the US customary cup (236.6 ml), which is the most common in online recipes. A UK/metric cup of 250 ml is a little larger.
How accurate are the gram values?
They are good estimates using typical densities, but real ingredients vary with brand, humidity and packing. For precise baking, use a scale.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. All calculations happen locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
