How age is counted
Your age goes up by one only after your birthday each year. The calculator first counts whole years, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days — borrowing from the previous month when needed. People born on February 29 are treated as having their birthday on March 1 in non-leap years.

Frequently asked questions
- How is my exact age calculated?
- We count complete years since your birth, then the remaining complete months, then the leftover days. You become a year older only on your birthday.
- How many days until my next birthday?
- Enter your date of birth and the tool shows the exact number of days remaining until your next birthday from the selected reference date.
- What about people born on February 29?
- In non-leap years their birthday is counted as March 1, which is the most common convention for age calculation.
- Can I find my age on a specific date?
