This fuel cost calculator estimates how much fuel a trip will use and what it will cost. Enter the distance, your vehicle's fuel economy (in km/L, L/100km, or US MPG), and the fuel price per liter. Turn on round trip to double the distance. Everything is calculated in your browser.

How to use

  1. Enter the trip distance in kilometers.
  2. Choose your fuel economy unit and enter the value, plus the fuel price.
  3. Read the fuel used and total cost; toggle round trip if needed.

How it works

Different fuel-economy units are first converted to a common base (kilometers per liter). The fuel used is the distance divided by that economy, and the cost is the fuel used multiplied by the price per liter. Round trip simply doubles the distance before the calculation. The cost per kilometer is the total cost divided by the distance.

Distance divided by fuel economy gives liters, multiplied by price gives cost.distance÷km/L×price=cost

Features

Multiple economy units

Works with km/L, L/100km, and US MPG.

Round-trip option

Double the distance with one toggle for a return journey.

Notes

  • Use the fuel price per liter that matches your area.
  • Real consumption varies with traffic, load, and driving style.
  • For L/100km, a lower number means better economy.

FAQ

Which fuel economy units are supported?
Kilometers per liter (km/L), liters per 100 km (L/100km), and US miles per gallon (MPG).
How is the cost calculated?
Fuel used is distance divided by economy; cost is fuel used times the price per liter.
Does round trip change the result?
Yes. It doubles the distance before calculating fuel and cost.
Why is my real cost different?
Actual fuel use depends on traffic, terrain, load, and driving style, so this is an estimate.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Every calculation happens in your browser and nothing leaves your device.
